Pediatric Trials Network
The NICHD awarded a contract to establish a Pediatric Trials Network (PTN) to Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) in September 2010. The main objective of the PTN is to provide an environment and an appropriate infrastructure for conducting safe and effective pediatric clinical trials for the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA) drug development program and for performing ancillary activities in support of these trials. The network will conduct pediatric clinical drug trials in a variety of therapeutic areas, including but not limited to cardiovascular diseases, cancer, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, respiratory diseases, neonatology, and medical devices.
The NICHD and DCRI are currently requesting candidates interested in collaborating with the PTN to submit their information as outlined in the notice below.
Welcome Pediatric Physicians:
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), in collaboration with the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) Pediatric Trials Network (PTN) and the PI Daniel K Benjamin Jr., MD PhD MPH, cordially invite you to participate as an investigator in the PTN.
The primary objective of the PTN is to provide effective infrastructure for the ethical conduct of pediatric clinical trials, which include pharmacokinetic (PK), safety and efficacy studies.
If you are interested in participating in the PTN, please paste the URL address attached below into your Web browser to access the survey. The survey will collect the information needed to determine your capability to participate in pediatric research studies being performed under the PTN.
You can enter data, save your work and come back to the survey from the same computer later to complete it. This will take a few moments to fill out, but it will serve as a strong indicator to gauge your site’s capabilities and potential to succeed in the PTN.
Thank you and kind regards,
The Pediatric Trials Network
